Rebecca was well taught on the bible And she had strong convictions It may have been through the church in town That she learned of the Lakota’s afflictions Yet there was prejudice against the Sioux That seemed unfair and cruel Rebecca quickly learned Of the townsfolk’s attitude
Here in the Dakotas On land that was once theirs The Indians were unwelcome Still…they were forced to share Rebecca found it hard to reason Nor did she approve For she found no fault With the children of the Lakota Sioux
