"White Medicine Woman"

The Boys as Men

   
       

A few years later Lorne tried to sign up

       As war broke out overseas

But he was to young they said

       At the recruiting office of the US Army

So, Lorne headed across the border

       To Canada he would go

And when he signed up this time

       His true age, they would not know

 

A few years later, Lorne was

       Conscripted by the US Military

But he was unavailable

       As in a European trench was he

He was a daring machine gun operator

       And he earned medals for his bravery

You see, he was gassed not once, but thrice

       During his service with the Canadian Army
